A Visit to Willemoes – Play and Learn About the Naval Hero.

Come visit the naval hero Willemoes and follow in his footsteps for a day. We’ll listen to the story of Peter Willemoes and talk about what makes someone a hero. And then, through various games and activities, we’ll practice the skills you need to become a real naval hero.

The purpose of this unit is to introduce students to the local and national hero, Peter Willemoes, who is an integral part of Danish culture and history. The unit is not tied to the learning objectives of any specific subject, but can be used in, for example, kindergarten, Danish language, or history classes. The focus is on general education through various forms of expression, physical expression, experience and empathy, dialogue, and community/social relationships.
