Lantern Walk

The City Walk invites students on an atmospheric lantern-lit stroll through the streets of Assens. As the city comes to life, the students walk and listen to stories about the town by the light of the lanterns. The students carry their own lanterns on the walk and must tend to the flames—a challenge that depends on the weather.

Students experience:

  • That the lamps draw attention to the use of light sources throughout history
  • The Value of Light Then and Now.
  • Through the streetlights and the darkness of the city, the students sense how people’s circumstances have changed over time.
