The “Get to Know Your Market Town ” walking tour takes students on a guided walk through Assens, the municipality’s historic market town. Students learn about the town’s history through stories of life in Assens. We’ll stop at various locations throughout the town, where we’ll hear about life in Assens for both the rich and the poor in the 1800s. We’ll pass by places where the wealthy lived and worked, and we’ll see which parts of the town have been home to the less well-off throughout history.

- The significance of the city’s geographical location—its central position on the Little Belt and as an important crossing point on the route between the Duchies and the Capital.
