The online course"War, Heroes, and Monuments" challenges students to create a monument—or a sketch of one—on their own, and to reflect on how monuments convey the values of a particular era.
This course is designed for students in upper elementary school and secondary education, and covers the subjects of Danish and history. The course examines case studies that are significant both in terms of local history and national history, thereby demonstrating how existing monuments embody heroic values. By viewing monuments as sources of historical knowledge, students learn to interpret their surroundings in new ways.
The course includes the following:
- Workbook: For the Student—War, Heroes, and Monuments
- Workbook: For Teachers—War, Heroes, and Monuments
- Source Database
