A program that takes students out into the surrounding areas and introduces them to local stories
Take the students on a walk through their local area, where they can learn more about the places they visit every day. The program can be done as a self-guided walk or with a guide from Museum Vestfyn.
Museum Vestfyn, in collaboration with local history archives, has developed lesson plans for walking tours that classes can take in their local area. The program is designed to help students learn about the local history of the area where they attend school. The program can also be combined with a visit to the local historical archive, where students can work more extensively with primary sources from the period they are studying.
We recommend that students work with the material at school, after which the entire class goes on a walking tour, with each group presenting on one of several locations along the route.
